Weingut Malat, Austria
Steinbühel is the name of the single vineyard these grapes are from, 'Stein' meaning stone and 'bühel' meaning hill. The site is of historical interest and its existance was first documented in 1322. The vines are treated mean with no irrigation but the resulting Riesling grapes are dealt with the utmost respect: hand picked, soft pressed and then allowed to spontaneously ferment with natural yeast in stainless steel tanks.
Peach, pineapple and a backbone of minerality run through the bouquet and palate.
